Director of Talent Development and Performance Management

At the Texas Education Agency, we are committed to improving outcomes for all public-school students in the state. We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director of Talent Development and Performance Management to join our team.
Job Summary:The Director of Talent Development and Performance Management will be responsible for establishing and driving a vision and strategy for the agency's performance management and talent development efforts. This includes supporting and developing agency supervisors, executing a vision for agency performance management and development, and collaborating with the Director of Human Resources to achieve this goal.
Key Responsibilities:- Develop and implement a performance management strategy that aligns with the agency's core values and strategic priorities.
- Design and implement impactful training and career development supports to help employees thrive in the agency's culture of continuous improvement.
- Provide strategic oversight for the agency's employee training and development programs, including the adoption of the 70/20/10 Model of Learning Development philosophy agency-wide.
- Support the adoption and implementation of effective Career Development Plans to support employee growth and development.
- Manage special projects, strategic initiatives, and ongoing efforts to support employee performance, professional growth, and improved outcomes.
- Collaborate with leadership across the agency to develop in-house training specific to employee needs.
- Collect, analyze, and maintain data gathered to inform ongoing targeted leadership development, including the design and implementation of systems that support succession planning.
- Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university in human resources, business management, or a related field.
- At least six years of full-time experience in human resources, talent management, and/or organizational development in a state agency, public school system, or education-focused non-profit.
- At least two years of experience must include formal, supervisory responsibilities as a core job duty.
- SHRM-SCP certification preferred.
