Sanitation Operations Supervisor

Sanitation Specialists is seeking a dedicated Sanitation Operations Supervisor to oversee our sanitation teams. As a growing organization, we partner with numerous food processing facilities nationwide. Our teams work diligently during off-hours to ensure that all machinery is impeccably clean and ready for the production of food products the following day.

Compensation: $80K based on experience

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Supervise and verify the sanitation work performed by team members, utilizing pathogen testing methods such as ATP procedures.
  • Collaborate with production, maintenance, and quality control teams to ensure sanitation services meet customer specifications.
  • Train and instruct sanitation staff on proper sanitation protocols, food safety standards, and workplace safety regulations.
  • Monitor sanitation activities and assist with cleaning tasks to guarantee compliance with established food safety practices.
  • Collect samples for testing, adhere to pathogen testing protocols, and address any issues with the Sanitation Site Supervisor.
  • Prepare cleaning solutions according to established guidelines and oversee the appropriate use of cleaning agents.
  • Ensure the correct use of color-coded equipment and tools throughout the sanitation process.
  • Operate cleaning machinery to effectively cleanse food processing equipment.
  • Track the usage of sanitation supplies and inform the Sanitation Supervisor when additional materials are required.
  • Maintain accurate records of hours worked and review timekeeping at the end of each shift.
  • Uphold a safe working environment by adhering to established health and safety procedures, including the use of personal protective equipment and Lock Out/Tag Out protocols.
  • Report any health and safety incidents to the Sanitation Site Supervisor or Area HR Specialist as per company policy.
  • Provide coverage for the Sanitation Site Supervisor during their absence.
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Experience: Minimum of 2 years in a sanitation or lead role within a food manufacturing setting.
  • Knowledge: Understanding of industrial sanitation principles, CIP methods, and chemistry verification techniques.
  • Professional Skills: Intermediate knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, and cost management to enhance sanitary food production.
  • Attributes: Dependable, respectful, and motivated individual.
  • Communication: Strong oral and written skills necessary for explaining essential job functions.
  • Time Management: Ability to manage time effectively to complete assigned tasks promptly.
  • Food Safety Standards: Familiarity with GMP, SQF, BRC, HACCP, SSOPs, and quality control processes.
  • Organizational Skills: Detail-oriented and capable of working independently or collaboratively with a positive attitude.
  • Willingness to Learn: Open to attending training sessions related to industry standards and company practices.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

This position involves 25% seated work and 75% standing, walking, and moving. The employee may occasionally need to bend, kneel, or squat and must be able to lift and move up to 50 pounds.
