Healthcare Support Specialist

Registered Nurse (RN) nursing student who has completed the initial fundamental course and clinical training 4. Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) / medic including military medic 5. Graduate from a medical assistant program 6. Graduate from a licensed practical nursing program 7. Clinical Services Technician (CST)
Certifications
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) is required at the time of hire.
Physical Demands
The role requires the ability to lift, carry, push, and pull significant weight regularly, along with the capacity to stand, walk, and sit for extended periods. The work environment may involve exposure to infectious diseases and potential injury from difficult patients or sharp instruments.
Work Schedule
Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM. Some holiday work may be necessary.
Position Overview
The Medical Assistant (MA) will play a crucial role in providing direct patient care and supporting clinical operations.
Key Responsibilities
Duties encompass, but are not limited to:
- Collecting patient medical history
- Facilitating patient flow
- Preparing examination rooms
- Managing clinic supplies
- Navigating the electronic health record system
- Coordinating appointments and follow-ups
- Assisting with medication requests, prior authorizations, and scheduling tests, procedures, and consultations
The MA will engage with pharmacies, insurance providers, patients, and healthcare professionals with respect and adhere to the behavioral expectations for service excellence.
Compensation
The starting pay for this position has been adjusted to a minimum hourly rate of $18.20, with rates determined by the candidate's experience.
Preferred Qualifications
A minimum of one year of clinical experience is preferred, with outpatient clinical experience being advantageous. Certification as a Medical Assistant is also preferred.
