Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Senior Accounting Associate to join our rapidly growing Outsourced Accounting Solutions (OAS) team. The ideal candidate will have general business knowledge and advanced bookkeeping skills to support our clients. The position requires working within the Wojeski office and at various client locations around the Capital District of New York State.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support OAS Operations
    • Monitor and approve financial processing, reporting, and supervise staff
  • Financial Reconciliation and Reporting
    • Perform monthly account reconciliations and prepare trial balances for month-end/quarter-end review
  • General Ledger Management
    • Demonstrate knowledge of the general ledger and make journal entries
  • Transaction Processing
    • Record daily transactions and properly post to the general ledger
  • Accounts Receivable and Payable Management
    • Invoice and properly record payments and accounts receivable
    • Manage accounts payable and weekly check disbursements
  • Client Support and Coaching
    • Coach clients with tasks and issues that arise in the accounting function of their businesses
  • QuickBooks Management
    • Create and track classes in QuickBooks

Qualifications

  • Education
    • High-school diploma or equivalent is required
    • Associates or bachelor's degree in business or accounting is preferred
  • Experience
    • 2 to 3 years relevant supervisory experience
    • 3 to 5 years relevant bookkeeping experience
  • Skills
    • Proficiency in QuickBooks Desktop, QuickBooks Online, and Office 365 products (especially Excel)
    • Excellent organizational skills
    • Advanced understanding of the balance sheet and profit and loss statement
    • Ability to manage multiple projects and staff members for different types of clients, in a fast-paced environment
    • Ability to learn quickly and work both independently and as a team member to complete tasks
    • Meticulous attention to detail and follow-through
    • Excellent communication and customer service skills; ability to interact with clients
    • Knowledge of business organizational structures
    • Knowledge of payroll processing and payroll taxes
    • Positive attitude focused on enhancing the firm's culture and an open-mindedness to change
