Job Title: Senior Accountant/Accountant Trainee

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Accountant/Accountant Trainee to join our team at the Office of Temporary and Disability Assistance (OTDA). This is a full-time, permanent, or contingent permanent appointment.

About the Role:

The successful candidate will be responsible for contributing to the planning, analysis, and design of the statewide Integrated Eligibility System (IES) and Emergency Rental Assistance Program (ERAP) Project. This includes identifying business and functional requirements, analyzing Federal and State laws, and communicating with other members of the Fiscal Systems Bureau and IES project members.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Participate in meetings and prepare documentation as needed
  • Analyze Federal and State laws, proposed legislation, and departmental releases to determine fiscal impact
  • Communicate with other members of the Fiscal Systems Bureau and IES project members
  • Manage and prioritize IES project deadlines and assist unit members
  • Perform system testing and report on performance
  • Track and monitor financial payments of the ERAP project
Requirements:

To be eligible for this position, candidates must have a bachelor's or higher degree in accounting, auditing, or taxation, or a bachelor's or higher degree with 24 semester credit hours in accounting, auditing, or taxation courses. For Trainee 2, candidates must also have one year of professional experience in accounting/auditing or financial internal or field auditing, or a master's or higher degree in accounting, auditing, or taxation. For the Full Performance Level, candidates must have two years of professional experience in accounting/auditing or financial internal or field auditing, or a master's or higher degree in accounting, auditing, or taxation and one year of professional experience.
