About the Role

Sabathani Community Center is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Director of Health Equity to lead our organization's efforts in eliminating health disparities, particularly in the African American community. This is a unique opportunity to join a team that is passionate about creating a more equitable and just society.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive health equity plan that addresses the root causes of health disparities.
  • Provide leadership and oversight to the Health Equity Department, ensuring that all programs and services are aligned with the organization's mission and goals.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders, including community members, healthcare providers, and policymakers, to advance health equity initiatives.
  • Manage and evaluate programs and services to ensure they are effective in achieving health equity outcomes.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with funders, partners, and stakeholders to secure resources and support for health equity initiatives.
  • Stay up-to-date on best practices and research in health equity, and apply this knowledge to inform program development and implementation.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, such as public health, health education, or a related field.
  • At least 7 years of experience in a leadership role, preferably in a nonprofit or community-based organization.
  • Proven track record of developing and implementing successful health equity programs and services.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with diverse stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to collect and analyze data to inform program development and implementation.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks and responsibilities.
