Position Title: Electrical Engineer I - Engineering & Construction

Department: Office of Chief Operations Officer

Position Objective:

This entry-level role is dedicated to supporting seasoned engineers in executing smaller-scale projects efficiently and safely. The incumbent will also provide occasional assistance to senior electrical engineers on various engineering tasks. Under guidance, the position will assess, select, and implement standard engineering methodologies to fulfill the generation and transmission requirements of the Cooperative, adhering to established policies, industry standards, and regulatory guidelines.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in delivering engineering support for designated projects, which may encompass power systems, instrumentation and controls, and telecommunication systems.
  • Engage in project coordination with various internal teams and external stakeholders, including consultants and regulatory bodies.
  • Contribute to resolving engineering challenges by applying standard practices; this includes equipment design, material testing, specification preparation, and conducting research investigations.
  • Help in creating technical drawings, specifications, and documentation to ensure timely project completion in alignment with the Cooperative's standards.
  • Provide electrical engineering support during installation and commissioning phases for projects overseen by senior engineers, including calculations and cost estimations.
  • Develop schematic and wiring diagrams, verify as-built conditions, and assist in project tracking and reporting.
  • Enhance knowledge of current electrical, instrumentation, and telecommunications technologies through self-study and training provided by the company.

Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited electrical engineering program.
  • Familiarity with electrical engineering principles and practices.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills, along with proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Possession of an Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certificate or Fundamentals of Engineering Exam (FE) certification is preferred.
  • A valid driver's license is required.
  • Submission of a resume is mandatory.

Physical and Environmental Requirements:

This position necessitates the ability to remain stationary and navigate within an office environment, with occasional physical activities such as reaching, bending, and lifting. The role may involve exposure to various environmental conditions and requires the ability to operate a motor vehicle and use safety equipment as needed.
