The Financial Ledger Specialist plays a crucial role in the preparation of financial statements and analyses for designated Market Organizations. This position is responsible for executing accounting procedures while upholding Hilti's Internal Control System. The Specialist will also engage in special management initiatives as required.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Execute compliant General Ledger processes by managing and coordinating month-end and year-end closing activities for assigned Market Organizations, including timelines, calendars, and Month-End Close Review calls, while maintaining accurate ledgers (balances and P&L).
  • Regularly review and update the balance sheet, ensuring accurate postings of accruals, prepayments, and provisions.
  • Maintain accounting records for assigned Market Organizations in accordance with internal accounting standards (Hilti Finance Manual) and legal requirements.
  • Implement effective internal controls for assigned Market Organizations within the Shared Service Center, ensuring compliance with group requirements and deadlines.
  • Analyze General Ledger KPIs (key performance indicators) and continuously seek areas for improvement.
  • Act as a collaborative partner for Financial Business Partners (FBPs), linking business decisions to accounting processes and enhancing General Ledger services.
  • Engage with finance and non-finance stakeholders, effectively communicating General Ledger topics.
  • Support global or local accounting projects and tool implementations for the General Ledger Accounting team.
  • Perform all GL Accounting functions related to period close, including posting entries, reconciling accounts, conducting variance analysis, and preparing management reports.
  • Coordinate requests from internal and external auditors for assigned Market Organizations, assisting with annual audits by preparing schedules and providing necessary documentation.
  • Continuously challenge existing processes, identifying opportunities for compliance improvements.
  • Drive continuous process enhancements for efficiency gains, collaborating with peers and cross-functional teams.
  • Execute proper internal controls for assigned Market Organizations within the Shared Service Center.
  • Support cross-functional internal control improvements across teams within the Shared Service Center.
  • Additional responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business, or equivalent experience is required.
  • A minimum of two (2) years of experience in financial accounting and/or financial analysis.
  • Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is preferred.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite and SAP ERP.
  • Excellent problem-solving, organizational, and time management skills with a keen attention to detail.
  • A collaborative mindset with a desire to work within diverse teams.
  • Strong analytical skills and functional expertise in Accounting and Finance.
