Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct compliant General Ledger activities by managing and coordinating month-end and year-end closing processes for assigned Market Organizations, including timelines and calendars.
  • Oversee Close Review calls, maintain GL Master data, and ensure accurate ledger management (balances and P&L).
  • Regularly update the balance sheet and accurately record accruals, prepayments, and provisions.
  • Ensure that accounting records for assigned Market Organizations adhere to internal accounting standards (Hilti Finance Manual) as well as legal obligations and deadlines.
  • Implement effective internal controls for assigned Market Organizations within the Shared Service Center, ensuring consistent documentation and compliance with group requirements.
  • Understand General Ledger KPIs (key performance indicators) and continuously seek areas for enhancement.
  • Act as a collaborative partner for Finance Business Partners (FBPs) by connecting business decisions to accounting processes and delivering improved General Ledger services.
  • Engage with finance and non-finance stakeholders, effectively communicating on General Ledger matters.
  • Support global or local accounting initiatives and tool implementations for the General Ledger Accounting team and relevant entities.
  • Execute all GL Accounting functions related to period closing, including posting entries, reconciling accounts, conducting variance analysis, and preparing management reports for assigned Market Organizations.
  • Coordinate requests from internal and external auditors for assigned Market Organizations and assist with annual audits by preparing schedules, providing necessary documentation, and meeting with auditors as required.
  • Consistently challenge existing processes, identifying opportunities for compliance improvements.
  • Identify and drive continuous process enhancements for efficiency gains, collaborating with peers and cross-functional teams.
  • Implement proper internal controls for assigned Market Organizations within the Shared Service Center.
  • Support cross-functional improvements in internal controls among teams within the Shared Service Center.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business, or equivalent experience, is required.
  • A minimum of two (2) years of experience in financial accounting and/or financial analysis.
  • Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is required.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Proficient in computer applications, including MS Office Suite and SAP ERP.
  • Strong problem-solving, organizational, and time management skills with a keen attention to detail.
  • A collaborative mindset with a desire to work with diverse teams.
  • Analytical and conceptual aptitude with robust functional expertise in Accounting and Finance.
