Job Opportunity

Community Roots Housing is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Housing Development Associate to join our property development team. This role will support the advancement of multiple development projects from concept to permanent finance conversion.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide research and support for project feasibility analysis, including assembling information for project concept development and providing research and due diligence on funding sources and site acquisition.
  • Support project and construction management, including participating in the selection of project team members and consultants, supporting developers and project teams in the design, entitlement, and permitting process, and maintaining accurate and functional project files for all project documents.
  • Support all aspects of funding source development, including preparing clear and effective drafts of private and public funding applications, identifying financing sources for each development project, and assisting senior developers with loans, investor equity documents, contracts, and other documents.
  • Facilitate project close-out, including completing appropriate reports to all funders as directed by developers, facilitating completion of necessary cost certifications with accountant, and completing archiving of digital and hard copy project files.
Requirements
  • BA degree in finance, public administration, planning, engineering, architecture, real estate, or related field (related work experience may be substituted).
  • Strong financial acumen and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Demonstrated ability working in a team and collaborative environment.
  • Proficient in MS Word and Excel.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Experience working in diverse groups.
  • Commitment and conviction to serving the mission and goals of the organization.
