Role Overview:

The Community Leader will demonstrate a successful history of managing multifamily properties, particularly HUD properties, while exhibiting exceptional communication skills and a positive demeanor. This role involves direct supervision of on-site staff to ensure adherence to corporate policies and procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Reporting: Generate accurate reports on a regular basis, detailing financial performance, budget discrepancies, market analysis, and strategic initiatives.
  • Budget Management: Collaborate in the formulation of annual budgets and oversee their execution, focusing on expense management and achieving organizational objectives.
  • Capital Projects: Partner with the Regional Manager and corporate team to evaluate and oversee capital improvement plans, ensuring compliance with budgetary constraints.
  • Market Analysis: Maintain comprehensive knowledge of local market conditions and competitors, developing tailored marketing strategies.
  • Vendor Relations: Manage vendor selection and negotiations.
  • Resident Engagement: Lead the on-site team in delivering outstanding customer service.
  • Resident Services: Oversee the scheduling of resident activities in alignment with AHF's mission.
  • Legal Oversight: Guide the on-site team in handling evictions and other legal matters.
  • Compliance: Stay informed on federal and state regulations, ensuring adherence to Fair Housing, EEO, OSHA, and ADA standards.
  • Process Enhancement: Contribute to ongoing improvements in policies and procedures.
  • Employee Development: Conduct performance evaluations and recommend compensation adjustments as necessary.
  • Site Inspections: Regularly inspect the property to ensure its marketability and operational standards.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of three years of experience in multifamily property management, including at least one year as a Property Manager or Community Manager in a Tax Credit community.
  • Completion of a leadership development program is preferred.
  • High School diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Professional certifications in property management (e.g., CPM, ARM, CAM) are advantageous.
  • Experience with affordable housing programs and compliance.
  • Familiarity with property management software, preferably Yardi.
  • Proven ability to recruit, manage, and develop both office and maintenance staff.
  • Experience in evaluating employee performance and fostering team development.
