Job Summary

The Student Records Specialist is a key member of the University of California - San Francisco's Student Progress unit, responsible for ensuring the academic progress of medical students meets competency milestones. This role involves working closely with teams across the School of Medicine to collect, organize, and manage medical student enrollment, academic performance, and licensure records.

Key Responsibilities
  • Independently reviews and analyzes student enrollment and progress issues, develops solutions, and communicates them to departmental faculty, staff, and school leadership.
  • Collaborates with other staff and faculty across multiple teams in the School of Medicine to plan and implement efforts for continuous improvement and adoption of new tools and systems in this domain.
  • Serves as project manager for the Medical Student Performance Evaluation (MSPE) for senior medical students based on enrollment information, academic data, and student and program contributions.
  • Manages large sets of medical student data and generates student transcripts, enrollment verification, and licensure documentation, ensuring accuracy in all systems, tools, and generated reports.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field and/or equivalent experience/training.
  • 3+ years of directly relevant experience.
  • Thorough knowledge of relevant policies and regulatory requirements, as well as health professions education program requirements.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to develop and implement processes and systems.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work productively with anyone regardless of background.
  • Strong organizational skills, with the ability to complete work and meet established deadlines in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Thorough knowledge of educational software and platforms, as well as data management and documentation methods.
