Human Resources Relations Advisor

As a Human Resources Relations Advisor, you will collaborate with the organization to ensure that HR protocols are adhered to consistently. Your role will involve driving and supporting HR initiatives aimed at enhancing the effectiveness and efficiency of services provided. You will offer onsite HR assistance as needed while addressing complex inquiries or concerns from team members and managers across various locations. Your efforts will focus on fostering positive relationships among team members and enhancing retention rates. In this capacity, you will influence frontline managers to cultivate a healthy rapport between themselves and their team members, promoting mutual respect, trust, and appreciation.

  • Competitive compensation with an annual bonus potential
  • Two available shifts:

1st shift - Monday through Friday 7am-3pm

OR

2nd shift - Monday through Thursday 3pm-1am

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Acting as a consultant for managers on matters related to team member performance, conflict resolution, and problem-solving in the management of team members.
  • Ensuring a fair and objective process for addressing team member concerns, including fact-finding and adherence to employee relations policies and practices. Conducting investigations in accordance with company procedures.
  • Providing specialist-level support, strategic partnership, guidance, and coaching to all levels of leadership.
  • Maintaining expected documentation practices and ensuring the accurate and confidential management of records related to all reported matters and fact-finding documentation.
  • Upholding the highest standards of integrity and confidentiality while managing employee relations issues.
  • Staying informed about organizational and operational changes within the company to identify potential employee relations risks and raising awareness with management.
  • Offering guidance and support in the development and delivery of appropriate performance feedback or action plans, including corrective/disciplinary actions and performance improvement plans.
  • Representing the company as needed in unemployment claims.
  • Depending on the work location, fulfilling additional HR responsibilities onsite.
  • Reviewing and processing requests for religious accommodations.
  • Providing guidance to local leadership on workplace threats and emergencies (violence, reasonable suspicion testing, conflicts, substance abuse, etc.).

Education and Experience:

A Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from a four-year college or university; and two to four years of related experience and/or training.

Critical Competencies or Skill Sets:

Ability to read and interpret documents such as policies, safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure manuals. Proficiency in writing performance or disciplinary documents and correspondence. Capability to arrive at decisions or resolutions that are legal, fair, and appropriate for the company's culture. Strong verbal and written communication and presentation skills. Ability to resolve conflicts and provide coaching. Capability to train and explain more complex processes or procedures.

Additional Requirements:

Extensive HR experience with a proven record of exercising independent, seasoned judgment. Ability to coach and mentor others on the HR services team with less expertise. Capability to advise or handle escalated issues. Ability to draft and/or revise policies and procedures in collaboration with legal and HR leadership.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee may occasionally be exposed to moving mechanical parts and fumes or airborne particles when interacting with employees on the job site. The noise level in the work environment is typically moderate.
