Installation Training Specialist

JOB DESCRIPTION
The Installation Training Specialist operates cross-functionally with Strategic Account Teams, Field Sales, Marketing, Product , Installation Teams, Customer Care, IT, Operational Effectiveness, and outside vendors and is responsible for the development & delivery of a comprehensive installation training program. This includes planning, developing, promoting, coordinating, and facilitation of all installation training curriculum and activities to support identified distribution channels and/or markets for the sales organization. Designs training activities comprehensive of both face-to-face and virtual training in collaboration with other installation teams as required to attain knowledge & performance objectives for internal & external customers Assesses results of training to ensure learning effectiveness and tracks participation and behavior changes so that performance improvements are realized and maintained.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following, but other duties may be assigned.
Installation Training Programs
- Collaborate with the corresponding channel/segment Sales Training Specialist on installation training as part of onboarding for new sales team members.
- Coordinate and lead strategic ongoing installation training programs for existing and tenured sales team members, whether in-person or virtual.
- Diagnose installation training needs assessment for the assigned channel or segment and partner with both Strategic Accounts and Field Sales leaders to support distribution partners as well as contractors, builders, installers, etc. When needed, any installation training could also encompass components of sales, product, direct customer and service training.
- Develop learning objectives, and learning plans for programs that result in desired skill or knowledge improvements, identify learning styles and needs of training participants and implement into the instructional design of training programs, both internally and externally.
- Formulate teaching outlines/facilitator guides as needed and determines instructional methods such as individual training, group instruction, lectures, demonstrations, conferences, tours, meetings and/or workshops designed to improve the delivery and retention of course materials provided during training.
- Assist in supporting installation training and expertise across the enterprise for special projects, cross-functional collaboration, special events, and launches.
- Apply continuous improvement principles to both virtual and in-person training opportunities to meet the evolving needs of field sales.
- Develop and manage tools, content, and resources related to installation that enable the sales and installation teams to be more efficient and effective.
- Select and implement technology to support the field installation teams and sales force to increase knowledge and capability installation.
- Assist in managing Pella’s sales enablement platform to ensure that all information is easily and readily accessible at point of need.
- Detailed knowledge of window and door installation principals, methods, and best practices, as well general construction knowledge.
- Extensive knowledge of training best practices (analysis, instructional design, delivery implementation, and evaluation).
- Expert ability to manage projects from concept to completion.
- Expert ability to plan and facilitate meetings.
- Strong strategic, conceptual, and analytical thinking, and decision-making skills.
- High adaptability and flexibility, including the ability to manage deadline pressure, ambiguity, and change.
- Highly developed training, presentation, and written communication skills.
- Expert ability to consult or provide guidance on complex matters to non-specialists; ability to communicate effectively with senior management.
- Expert ability to collaborate and generate a spirit of cooperation while coordinating diverse activities and groups within a team environment.
This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

EDUCATION And/or EXPERIENCE
Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) from four-year college or university; or three to five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals.
