About the Role

Kaiser Permanente is seeking a skilled MRI Technologist II to join our team in Walnut Creek, California.

Job Summary

As an MRI Technologist II, you will be responsible for operating magnetic resonance imaging equipment to produce high-quality images of patients' bodies for diagnostic purposes. You will work under the direction of the Chief of Radiology and the Imaging Services Director, utilizing your expertise and judgment to ensure optimal diagnostic quality and patient care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform patient studies according to established protocols, including placing coils close to areas of interest.
  • Operate imaging and other equipment devices to provide high-quality diagnostic services.
  • Interview patients to explain MRI procedures and address concerns, demonstrating tact, courtesy, and poise.
  • Ensure patient and staff safety by explaining safety protocols and monitoring patients via closed-circuit TV.
  • Orient new hires and train MRI Technologists, students, and trainees.
Requirements
  • Minimum two years of continuous recent experience as a MRI Technologist, with proficiency in all duties required of a MRI Technologist II.
  • High School Diploma/GED.
  • Radiologic Technologist Certificate (California).
  • Certified Radiologic Technologist - Venipuncture Certificate (California) within 6 months of hire.
  • Basic Life Support.
Preferred Qualifications
  • ARRT certification.
