Job Summary:

As a skilled MRI Technologist II, you will operate magnetic resonance imaging equipment to produce high-quality images of patients' bodies for diagnostic purposes. Under the direction of the Chief of Radiology and the Imaging Services Director, you will utilize your expertise to ensure optimal diagnostic quality of patient care while maintaining efficient and safe processes.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform patient studies according to established protocols, including placing specified coils close to areas of interest.
  • Operate imaging and other equipment devices to provide high-quality diagnostic services, including keying commands to specify scan sequences into the computer and adjusting transmitters and receivers.
  • Interview patients to explain magnetic resonance imaging procedures and address their concerns, demonstrating a high degree of tact, courtesy, and poise when interacting with patients, staff, and visitors.
  • Ensure patient and staff safety by explaining safety protocols, requesting the removal of hazardous metal objects, and monitoring patients via closed-circuit TV.
  • Orient new hires and train MRI Technologists, students, and trainees in MRI procedures.
  • Train MRI Technologists I in MRI procedures and may be required to direct, check, and train other MRI employees in the absence of the MRI Supervising Technologist.
Requirements:
  • Minimum two years of continuous recent experience as a MRI Technologist and be fully proficient in all duties required of a MRI Technologist II to the satisfaction of the department manager.
  • High School Diploma/GED.
  • Radiologic Technologist Certificate (California).
  • Certified Radiologic Technologist - Venipuncture Certificate (California) within 6 months of hire.
  • Basic Life Support.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • ARRT certification preferred.
