MRI Imaging Specialist

As a MRI Imaging Specialist at Kaiser Permanente, you will operate magnetic resonance imaging equipment to produce high-quality images of patients' bodies for diagnostic purposes. Under the direction of the Chief of Radiology and the Imaging Services Director, you will perform related technological functions to ensure optimal diagnostic quality of patient care.
Key responsibilities include:
- Performing patient studies according to set protocol, including placing specified coils close to the area of interest.
- Operating imaging and other equipment devices to provide quality diagnostic services.
- Interviewing patients to explain magnetic resonance imaging procedures and addressing their concerns.
- Ensuring patient and staff safety by explaining safety protocols and monitoring patients via closed-circuit TV.
- Orienting new hires and training MRI Technologists, students, and trainees.
Basic Qualifications:
Experience: Minimum two (2) years of continuous recent experience as a MRI Technologist, with proficiency in all duties required of a MRI Technologist II. Education: High School Diploma/GED. License, Certification, Registration: Radiologic Technologist Certificate (California) and Certified Radiologic Technologist - Venipuncture Certificate (California) within 6 months of hire. Basic Life Support.
Additional Requirements:
Must have demonstrated proficiency in teaching other Technologists. May be required to direct, check, and train other MRI employees. Must be fully proficient in MRI to the full satisfaction of the department manager and have knowledge of required protocols in performing complex MRI procedures.
Preferred Qualifications:
ARRT certification preferred.
