MRI Technologist II Job Summary

Kaiser Permanente is seeking a skilled MRI Technologist II to join our team in Walnut Creek, California.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Operate magnetic resonance imaging equipment to produce high-quality images of patients' bodies for diagnostic purposes.
  • Under the direction of the Chief of Radiology and the Imaging Services Director, perform related technological functions to ensure optimal diagnostic quality of patient care.
  • Interview patients to explain MRI procedures, address concerns, and exhibit exceptional tact, courtesy, and poise when interacting with patients, staff, and visitors.
  • Ensure patient and staff safety by explaining safety protocols, requesting removal of hazardous metal objects, and monitoring patients via closed-circuit TV.
  • Orient new hires and train MRI Technologists, students, and trainees in MRI procedures.
  • Train MRI Technologists I in MRI procedures and may be required to direct, check, and train other MRI employees in the absence of the MRI Supervising Technologist.
Requirements:
  • Minimum two years of continuous recent experience as a MRI Technologist and be fully proficient in all duties required of a MRI Technologist II to the satisfaction of the department manager.
  • High School Diploma/GED.
  • Radiologic Technologist Certificate (California).
  • Certified Radiologic Technologist - Venipuncture Certificate (California) within 6 months of hire.
  • Basic Life Support.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • ARRT certification.
