Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Strategic Product Development Director to join our team. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for assessing markets and identifying opportunities that align with our company's strategy. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to develop and implement strategic projects and programs that drive business growth and success.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop business cases for strategic projects and programs, including multi-million dollar and multi-year initiatives
  • Assess the robustness of investment cases from other areas and provide input for prioritization calls with a product strategy lens
  • Define propositions being proposed in executive language, based on customer and tech team input
  • Develop plans to commercialize solutions and coordinate across business units and central teams to create high-level business cases
  • Engage stakeholders to gain alignment with business cases and work with segments, corporate teams, and markets to understand opportunities related to propositions
  • Objectively assess the likely market success of propositions given the competitive environment
  • Engage with customers and partners through insight team work and directly to determine the attractiveness of propositions
  • Coordinate across central teams and business units to establish an outline program of work and support the execution of propositions in the feasibility stages
  • Define an outline program of work that will be handed over to segment product and functional management teams for implementation
  • Engage with external partners on work related to strategic programs and projects, working towards agreements or contracts
  • Feed into reporting and budgeting processes on strategic programs
  • Create financial models for opportunities to demonstrate business case value
Requirements
  • Previous experience as a consultant with a strong background in finance, including the following skill-sets and characteristics:
  • Hypothesis-led approach
  • Ability to manage projects within an organization
  • Strong influence skills (without hierarchical authority)
  • Able to work to tight timescales
  • Ability to define a problem and structure a path to a solution
  • Skilled at financial and commercial modeling in Excel, including options analysis
  • Data-driven and able to articulate and communicate the message behind the data
  • Excellent written and presentational skills, for executive-level communication
  • Ready, willing, and ideally experienced at working across UK and West Coast time zones
  • Telco background, with satcom and networking knowledge a plus
