Legal Liaison Specialist

The Administrative Office of the Courts is seeking a highly skilled Legal Liaison to provide departmental-level support and report to the executive officer. This role will perform responsibilities including drafting, preparing, and organizing essential documents and processes.
Key Responsibilities:- Analyze, review, develop, and implement departmental policies and procedures.
- Review, edit, draft, and maintain contract templates for the use of the Division of Procurement.
- Draft and review non-template-based contracts for use of the KCOJ in compliance with the AOC Procurement Policy and applicable law.
- Assist the AOC Policy Officer in developing AOC policies pertaining to the department.
- Train departmental personnel regarding laws and KCOJ, AOC, and departmental policies and procedures.
- Perform legal research for the assigned department to determine whether a formal legal opinion is necessary.
- Communicate with court officials, state agencies, and field personnel on behalf of and/or regarding the department.
- Assist elected officials and management with legal and/or compliance issues/inquiries pertaining to the department.
- Graduate of an accredited law school.
- Minimum 3 years of experience as a licensed attorney.
- Licensed attorney in good standing with the Kentucky Bar Association.
Work is primarily performed in an office setting; however, intermittent or scheduled virtual work may be approved upon approval of the executive officer.
