Position Overview:

As a leading organization in healthcare innovation, the New York eHealth Collaborative (NYeC) is on the lookout for a Technical Project Coordinator to spearhead project management initiatives related to various technical assignments. This role is pivotal in ensuring the seamless execution of projects that enhance health information exchange across New York State.

NYeC is a not-for-profit entity collaborating with the New York State Department of Health, dedicated to improving healthcare delivery through effective health information exchange. Established in 2006, our mission is to achieve the Triple Aim: enhancing patient care experiences, delivering superior health outcomes, and minimizing costs.

Key Responsibilities:

As a Technical Project Coordinator, your responsibilities will include:
  1. Overseeing and managing complex IT projects that align with strategic objectives.
  2. Collaborating with program, technical, and operational stakeholders to define project priorities and success metrics.
  3. Documenting project goals, milestones, and potential risks, ensuring comprehensive tracking through to completion.
  4. Securing and managing resources effectively, while engaging relevant stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.
  5. Coordinating activities across various project management domains to ensure timely project delivery.
  6. Communicating project status and challenges promptly to stakeholders, managing expectations throughout.
  7. Implementing project management tools and methodologies to enhance efficiency and reporting.
  8. Monitoring project progress through all phases, ensuring quality outputs that meet defined standards.
  9. Identifying and mitigating project risks proactively, addressing potential issues as they arise.
  10. Managing project budgets and procurement processes, ensuring financial accountability.
  11. Supervising consultants and vendors engaged in project activities.

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will possess:
  • A Bachelor’s degree; a Master’s degree is preferred.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is highly desirable.
  • 6-8 years of experience in technical project management, with a focus on enterprise-level IT projects.
  • Familiarity with Health Information Technology (HIT) and Health Information Exchange (HIE) is advantageous.
  • Proficiency in managing projects using various development lifecycles, including Agile and waterfall methodologies.
  • Strong communication skills, capable of conveying technical concepts to diverse stakeholders.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects in a dynamic environment.
  • Experience with budget management and vendor relations.
  • Advanced skills in MS Office and project management tools such as MS Project and Jira.
