Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Supervisor of Youth Care Services to join our team at Boys Town. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for overseeing the delivery of intensive and professional case management services to youth, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and contract objectives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Program Development and Delivery
    • Contribute to ongoing program development and assume responsibility for the delivery of services to youth and family members.
    • Supervise consultants in developing, monitoring, and reviewing service plans developed by consultants for youth, as well as developing subsequent plans throughout care.
  • Staff Supervision and Development
    • Supervise and provide assessment of staff problems and develop strategies to solve them.
    • Act as an advocate for children and families.
    • Monitor and ensure that records and documentation, including service plans, forms, reports, case notes, narratives, outcome measures, and demographics, are completed appropriately and on time.
  • Administrative Responsibilities
    • Assist in accepting and screening referrals to the program.
    • Supervise and participate in service planning reviews, progress reviews, staff meetings, and case reviews.
    • Ensure appropriate level of direct contact with youth and family members per program requirements, and remain available to staff and youth 24/7 for crisis intervention as needed.
  • Leadership and Collaboration
    • Promote safety through ongoing training and supervision and promote a culture of professionalism through role modeling, profession, and respect.
    • Assume supervisory and administrative responsibility for Care Coordination Services.
    • Provide and document ongoing and regular supervision to consultants.
    • Assist in screening, hiring, and directing program staff; provide training for staff; provide observation and direction to consultants while in the field.
  • Community Engagement and Partnerships
    • Build and maintain relationships with community funding entities, governmental agencies, service providers, sources of support for families within the community, and all program consumers.
    • Build and maintain knowledge of various community systems such as child welfare, juvenile justice, educational, substance abuse, and mental health.
  • Data Management and Compliance
    • Develop and maintain effective data collection systems, providing required and appropriate data.
    • Establish and implement systems to predict and prevent potential problems.
    • Review individual staff data to ensure that program guidelines are being followed, and use data to improve efficiencies, outcomes, and staff development.
    • Implement and ensure compliance with all contractual, regulatory, program, and accrediting body standards; provide necessary documents, maintaining certifications and licensures as required.
  • Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
    • Knowledge of regulatory requirements pertaining to youth care and of statutes and policies which affect the target population.
    • Ability to function independently and have flexibility, personal integrity, and the ability to work effectively with youth, staff, and support agencies.
    • Knowledge of community resources and service providers available in the geographical area; knowledge of the functions and services of the community organizations and related human services.
    • Ability to communicate with individuals at all levels in the organization and with external business contacts in an articulate, professional manner while maintaining necessary degree of confidentiality.
    • Ability to successfully lead a team of associates.
    • Computer skills in Microsoft Office.
    • Excellent critical thinking, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
    Requirements
    • Bachelor's degree in Human Services or related field required.
    • Minimum 2 years of experience including working with children and families required.
    • Possess a valid driver's license with a good driving record required.
    • Ability to provide own transportation (mileage reimbursed) to complete travel requirements of the job required.
    • Meet auto insurance requirements established by Boys Town policy and/or State and Local laws and pass an annual Motor Vehicle Registration (MVR) check required.
    • On-call (continuously or rotationally) to provide support required.
    • Florida: Certified Behavioral Health Case Manager Supervisor (CBHCMS) or have the ability to obtain certification within 6 months of hire required.
    Preferred Qualifications
    • Master's degree preferred.
    • Management and supervisory experience preferred.
    • Experience working with children and families in community-based programs or Boys Town Programs preferred.
