Mission Statement: Our mission is to assist youth transitioning from foster care and other at-risk populations in achieving successful independence through comprehensive support in housing, education, employment, and care coordination.

Organization Overview: Fort Lauderdale Independence is a non-profit entity committed to empowering youth who are aging out of foster care and other vulnerable groups by offering extensive support services, resources, and guidance.

Role Purpose: The Clinician I is responsible for delivering clinical services tailored to the needs of victims in a compassionate and victim-centered approach. This role involves the formulation of individualized treatment plans for each client.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide individual, family, and group therapy sessions.
  • Assist in the creation and execution of personalized treatment plans for each client.
  • Collaborate with Survivor Mentors and Regional Advocates to develop individual wellness plans.
  • Facilitate crisis intervention services as required to address immediate client needs.
  • Document and communicate with referral providers as necessary to align with treatment objectives.
  • Engage in multidisciplinary team meetings to discuss cases and ensure appropriate care.
  • Work in partnership with Regional Advocates and Survivor Mentors to meet client needs effectively.
  • Complete necessary documentation for funding sources, courts, and referral agencies.
  • Provide training to referral organizations to ensure suitable interventions for victims of commercial sexual exploitation and trafficking.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned based on program requirements.

Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Social Work, Counseling Psychology, or a related field with a focus on Counseling, such as Mental Health Counseling (registered intern status in Florida preferred).
  • A minimum of 2 years of relevant professional experience.
