Coordinate project studies, reports, and design assignments within departmental or divisional frameworks.

Conduct power system analyses and coordinate system protection settings across various projects, including those at voltages up to 500 kV.

Create design basis documentation for protective settings and produce native relay configuration files.

Provide technical direction to project teams, facilitate design reviews, and ensure adherence to quality control standards.

Serve as the primary liaison for both internal stakeholders and external clients.

A master's degree combined with three years of relevant experience may be accepted in lieu of a bachelor's degree and the corresponding experience.

Preferred Skills and Experience

Professional Engineer licensure is highly desirable.

Expertise in protection and control system design for substation applications and automation (69 kV to 500 kV), including one-lines, three-lines, AC/DC schematics, control panel layouts, bill of materials, and protection specifications.

Familiarity with industry standards for the protection of system equipment, such as power busses, transformers, circuit breakers, capacitor banks, reactors, transmission lines, and distribution feeders.

Proficiency in power systems modeling and protective relay coordination analysis using software like ASPEN OneLiner or Electrocon CAPE.

Experience with designing calculations, including short circuit calculations, current transformer performance and ratio selection, over-current element coordination, zone-distance element selection and coordination, and relay loadability calculations.

Ability to develop native relay setting files using SEL's AcSELerator and GE's Enervista software.

Provide engineering support during construction and commissioning phases for substations.

Lead multiple engineering teams in design and scope for various projects.

Knowledge of FERC and NERC requirements related to electric utility reliability is advantageous.

Understanding of IEC61850 and its implementation is a plus.
