Position Summary:
Bizzell Group is seeking a Safety Technician to support the Environmental, Health, and Safety (EH&S) Manager in implementing effective EH&S programs, practices, and procedures. The primary focus is to minimize the frequency and severity of accidental losses related to workers' compensation, general liability, and property damage. The Safety Technician will collaborate with the EH&S Manager to ensure compliance with applicable regulations designed to safeguard the organization’s assets.
The role requires providing safety support during standard business hours, with occasional availability during non-core hours as needed.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist the EH&S Manager in ensuring compliance with safety regulations and environmental health standards.
- Conduct investigations and assess risk management data to identify hazards and recommend preventive measures.
- Support the management of safety training programs for employees and subcontractors.
- Perform regular inspections of facilities and operations to identify hazards and ensure compliance.
- Conduct safety audits of maintenance records and provide guidance on necessary documentation.
- Monitor safety practices among subcontractors and assist in managing safety-related issues.
- Investigate incidents and maintain accurate documentation.
- Communicate effectively with team members and stakeholders regarding safety updates and changes.
- Foster relationships with clients to enhance customer satisfaction and engagement.
Qualifications:
- Knowledge of Cal-OSHA, EPA, and other relevant regulatory standards.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to design and implement effective safety programs.
- Experience conducting safety inspections in laboratory settings.
- Valid driver's license and willingness to undergo a background check.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
- Minimum of 5 years of related experience.
- Certification as a Safety Professional is preferred.
Physical Requirements:
This position may require prolonged periods of sitting and working on a computer.
