Position Summary:

Bizzell Group is seeking a Safety Technician to support the Environmental, Health, and Safety (EH&S) Manager in implementing EH&S programs, practices, and procedures. This role is crucial in minimizing the frequency and severity of workplace incidents related to workers' compensation, liability, and property damage. The Safety Technician will collaborate with the EH&S Manager to ensure compliance with applicable regulations designed to safeguard the organization’s assets.

The facility operates continuously throughout the year, and the Safety Technician will provide essential safety support during standard business hours, with occasional availability required outside of these hours.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the EH&S Manager in ensuring compliance with safety regulations and standards.
  • Conduct investigations and assess risk management data to identify hazards and recommend preventive measures.
  • Oversee safety training programs for employees and subcontractors.
  • Perform regular inspections of facilities and operations to identify safety hazards and compliance issues.
  • Conduct safety audits and provide guidance on maintenance records and work orders.
  • Monitor safety practices among subcontractors and support their compliance efforts.
  • Investigate incidents and maintain documentation as required.
  • Communicate effectively with team members and stakeholders regarding safety matters.
  • Foster relationships with clients to enhance customer satisfaction.
  • Participate in meetings and keep the team informed of relevant updates.

Qualifications:

  • Understanding of regulatory requirements from agencies such as Cal-OSHA and EPA.
  • Knowledge of loss prevention regulations at federal, state, and local levels.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to implement and manage safety programs effectively.
  • Valid driver's license and willingness to undergo background checks.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in safety management.
  • Certification as a Safety Professional or equivalent credentials.
