Position Summary:
Bizzell Group is seeking a Safety Technician to support the Environmental, Health, and Safety (EH&S) Manager in implementing safety programs and procedures. This role is essential in minimizing the frequency and severity of workplace incidents related to workers' compensation, liability, and property damage. The Safety Technician will collaborate with the EH&S Manager to ensure compliance with relevant regulations aimed at safeguarding the organization's assets.
The facility operates continuously throughout the year, and the Safety Technician will provide safety oversight during standard business hours, with occasional availability required outside of these hours.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist the EH&S Manager in ensuring compliance with safety regulations and standards.
- Conduct investigations and analyze risk management data to identify hazards and recommend preventive measures.
- Manage safety training programs for employees and subcontractors.
- Perform regular inspections of facilities and operations to identify safety hazards and ensure compliance.
- Conduct safety audits and provide guidance on maintenance records.
- Monitor safety practices among subcontractors to mitigate risks.
- Investigate incidents and maintain accurate documentation.
- Communicate effectively with team members and stakeholders regarding safety matters.
- Foster relationships with clients to enhance satisfaction and collaboration.
Qualifications:
- Understanding of regulatory standards such as Cal-OSHA and EPA.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to design and implement effective safety programs.
- Valid driver's license and willingness to undergo background checks.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in safety management.
- Certification as a Safety Professional is preferred.
