About OTTO:

We are seeking a Technical Sales Engineer to undertake various sales responsibilities aimed at fostering ongoing development and expansion for our North American Sales Team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Initiate and support sales initiatives across North America
  • Assist North American Sales Managers, Major Accounts Manager, OTTO independent representatives, and distributors to achieve project goals
  • Establish connections by visiting clients, representatives, and distributors as necessary
  • Coordinate multiple projects concurrently while managing both direct and indirect resources
  • Track significant opportunities and provide necessary support to secure business alongside the Regional Sales Manager
  • Engage with customer engineers for design integration to support new projects and communicate requirements to the Product team
  • Develop, present, or respond to proposals tailored to specific customer needs, including RFP responses and industry-specific solutions
  • Identify all technical concerns of assigned accounts to ensure complete customer satisfaction throughout the sales process
  • Collaborate with the internal Engineering team for product development and comprehend the Phase Gate Process utilized by OTTO
  • Provide market insights to management, including competitive analysis, new product opportunities, forecasts, and long-term planning
  • Travel to customer and sales representative locations and support domestic trade shows as required
  • Assist with additional related tasks as needed

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree required – preferably in mechanical or electrical engineering
  • At least 2 years of relevant experience in a technical sales role within manufacturing
  • Strong project management skills with attention to detail
  • Availability for non-standard or extended work hours
  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel and PowerPoint
  • Demonstrated technical aptitude with the ability to learn quickly and apply knowledge to new applications and customer needs
  • Preferred experience with electro-mechanical switch products
  • Familiarity with OTTO products and business lines is advantageous
  • Essential background in project management
  • Self-motivated with the capability to complete projects within strict guidelines
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks
  • Detail-oriented with proven follow-up skills
