Position Summary

This role presents an exciting opportunity within a dynamic team that is redefining the ocean data landscape. We are looking for a meticulous and dedicated individual to join our quality assurance department. In this capacity, you will be responsible for conducting thorough inspections of electro-mechanical assemblies integral to our autonomous vehicles. Your contributions will be vital in establishing quality benchmarks and ensuring production aligns with customer expectations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Report directly to the Quality Programs Manager, focusing on upholding stringent quality standards throughout the production process.
  • Execute comprehensive inspections on intricate components and assemblies to verify compliance with engineering specifications.
  • Conduct regular audits and inspections of incoming materials, in-process assemblies, and finished products, adhering to established protocols.
  • Perform visual and dimensional inspections, ensuring meticulous documentation of all findings.
  • Identify and escalate any discrepancies or non-conformances in products or processes.
  • Stay informed on all relevant procedures, specifications, and quality alerts within your scope of work.
  • Assist production teams in understanding defect awareness and specification requirements.
  • Contribute to problem-solving initiatives and collaborate with quality engineering on root cause analysis and corrective actions.
  • Support the implementation and monitoring of corrective actions to enhance production quality.

Qualifications

  • A high school diploma or GED, complemented by three years of relevant experience in electronics or mechanical inspection.
  • A blend of technical expertise and strong interpersonal skills is essential for this role.
  • Proficient in the use of inspection tools such as micrometers, calipers, and gauges.
  • Ability to interpret quality control specifications and engineering drawings, including mechanical and electrical symbols.
  • Skilled in recognizing inspection errors and initiating appropriate corrective measures.
  • Familiarity with fundamental quality concepts and terminology.
  • Understanding of accuracy versus precision and the selection of appropriate measurement techniques.
  • Basic knowledge of calibration processes and sample size requirements.
  • Awareness of traceability protocols for products and materials.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to remain stationary for extended periods.
  • Capability to navigate the manufacturing facility multiple times throughout the day.
  • Comfortable performing various physical movements, including bending, twisting, and reaching.
