Job Summary

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Patient Access Coordinator to join our team at Queen's Health System.

Responsibilities
  • Pre-register patients, verify insurance, and obtain authorizations for inpatient and outpatient services.
  • Coordinate communication with clinical personnel and payment collection.
  • Provide administrative support to ensure efficient day-to-day operations.
Typical Physical Demands

Essential: Finger dexterity, seeing, hearing, speaking, full range of body motion, manual and finger dexterity, and eye-hand coordination.

Continuous: Sitting, frequent gripping of an object.

Frequent: Walking, standing.

Occasional: Lifting and carrying items weighing up to 30 pounds, reaching above, at, and below shoulder level.

Typical Working Conditions
  • Not substantially subjected to adverse environmental conditions.
  • May be exposed to infectious and contagious diseases.
  • Subjected to many interruptions.
  • Occasionally subjected to irregular work hours.
Minimum Qualifications

Education/Certification and Licensure:

  • High school diploma or equivalent education.
  • Ability to perform 7,200 adjusted keystrokes per hour.

Experience:

  • One (1) year medical office, admissions, insurance billing, or customer service experience.

Experience should demonstrate good verbal and written communication skills in English, good interpersonal skills and telephone etiquette, knowledge and skills in use of general office equipment, ability to work under changing situations and interruptions, and ability to maintain highly sensitive, confidential material. Knowledge of medical terminology, third-party payer regulations, and financial requirements is preferred, as is knowledge of Federal, State, and local collection regulations.
