Position Overview:

The Automation Control Specialist will play a crucial role in the preparation and coordination of equipment used in battery manufacturing to facilitate the launch of new models.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the execution of Capital Projects from the planning phase through to the Start of Production (SOP).
  • Develop and manage internal control requirements for data collection within the Battery department.
  • Identify and eliminate obstacles that impede progress, while effectively prioritizing tasks and managing schedules.

What You Will Do:

  • Implement network systems at the shop floor level, including andon and Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES).
  • Support the development of battery network system specifications, utilizing knowledge of OPC-UA, CC-Link, SQL, and SCADA systems.
  • Configure PLCs for manufacturing equipment, ensuring connectivity through Kepware and proper signal mapping.
  • Establish and maintain intuitive visualizations for monitoring line status and health.
  • Oversee the setup and long-term support of servers.
  • Collaborate across various functions and international teams to drive project success.
  • Plan and monitor the installation of network systems, addressing field issues in coordination with construction teams.
  • Maintain detailed schedules and contribute to a culture of safety by adhering to safety protocols and addressing unsafe conditions.
  • Engage in mentorship opportunities to enhance professional growth and stay informed on industry advancements.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or a related technical field, or 2+ years of relevant experience in a manufacturing setting.
  • Proficiency in PLC programming, with the ability to read, interpret, and modify code.
  • Experience with SQL/Oracle databases and troubleshooting communication protocols.
  • Familiarity with Andon visualization software and the ability to support operations during weekends and holidays as necessary.
  • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally as required.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with Mitsubishi PLC programming and SCADA systems.
  • Knowledge of MES and Kepware software.
  • Familiarity with data analytics tools such as PowerBI or Tableau.
  • Certification in Functional Safety machinery.
