Position Overview

As a Clinical Nurse Specialist, you will deliver comprehensive nursing care to patients within a healthcare environment, ensuring adherence to the highest standards of confidentiality, integrity, and quality care.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Communicate procedures and treatments to patients to foster understanding and cooperation.
  2. Administer prescribed medications and treatments following established nursing protocols.
  3. Monitor patient comfort and safety, addressing any needs that arise.
  4. Document patient observations, noting significant conditions and reactions, and promptly inform supervisors or physicians of any changes.
  5. Measure and record vital signs, including temperature, pulse, and blood pressure, to assess patient conditions and respond appropriately.
  6. Assist with daily living activities such as bathing, feeding, and bed-making as necessary.
  7. React to emergency situations in accordance with nursing standards and protocols.
  8. Maintain accurate nursing histories and physical assessments for assigned patients.
  9. Develop and implement patient education plans tailored to individual needs, in collaboration with physicians and hospital policies.
  10. Complete all required orientation and training at the assigned facility.
  11. Provide support across various clinical departments as qualified.
  12. Engage in quality improvement initiatives within the department or unit.
  13. Perform duties under the direct supervision of the assigned clinical staff.
  14. Ensure patient confidentiality is upheld at all times.
  15. Adhere to safety protocols and report any unsafe conditions to supervisors.
  16. Follow the facility’s Exposure Control Plan in accordance with health and safety guidelines.
Qualifications
  • Minimum of 1 year of recent experience in a hospital setting.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Graduate from an accredited nursing program.
  • Two professional references and a history of employment.
Essential Credentials

It is imperative to maintain current documentation, including:

  1. Active RN license in good standing, free from disciplinary actions.
  2. Current BCLS certification.
  3. Updated health records, including TB, Hepatitis B, and immunization documentation.
  4. Completed criminal background check.
  5. Successful completion of medication tests and clinical skills assessments.
  6. All necessary employment paperwork must be signed and dated.
  7. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
