Job Overview

Rite Rug Flooring, a leading name in the flooring installation sector in the U.S. with a rich legacy spanning over 90 years, is in search of a dedicated sales consultant to oversee our territories in Chicago, Southern Wisconsin, and Northwest Indiana.

POSITION SUMMARY:

This role, reporting to the Midwest Vice President of Sales, is primarily aimed at engaging with single-family and multi-family new construction projects, as well as light commercial ventures. This position is not based in a retail environment. The ideal candidate will possess knowledge of the flooring sector and/or established connections within the local construction community. We are committed to training the right individual in any necessary areas.

Success in this role is defined by the ability to nurture existing relationships while also generating new leads and expanding our client base.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Promote flooring products, complete installation services, and supplementary accessories to local builders.
  • Establish and sustain positive relationships with customers.
  • Gain a comprehensive understanding of all Rite Rug products, accessories, and services, along with market competitors, to effectively support and enhance the company’s growth.
  • Meet and surpass company-directed performance objectives.
  • Analyze sales and usage reports to manage and maintain profitability.
  • Prepare bids and develop builder product programs.
  • Educate customers on product knowledge.
  • Collaborate with the Internal Operations team to streamline processes and onboarding.
  • Ensure effective communication with customers and internal team members.
  • Oversee the onboarding process for new and existing clients.
  • Expand the customer base by converting prospects into clients.
  • Maintain direct customer relationships while also coordinating with the internal operations team throughout the customer journey.

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Strong presentation skills, negotiation abilities, and organizational capabilities are essential.
  • Experience in the flooring industry is advantageous.
  • Proven problem-solving skills with a reputation for providing solutions.
  • Results-oriented mindset with the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Familiarity with the builder industry and basic construction knowledge is preferred.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Self-motivated and dependable.
  • Able to communicate effectively with clients, internal staff, and subcontractors.
  • Comfortable with public speaking and social interactions.
  • Proactive and action-oriented.
  • Focus on fostering a positive team dynamic.
