We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director of Bioengineering Department to join our team at the University of Washington. As a key member of our department, you will be responsible for leading and managing the administrative functions of the department, including financial planning, budget development, and personnel management.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage the human resources of the department, including faculty and staff, in accordance with University of Washington and School of Medicine policy and procedures.
  • Develop and implement internal financial system controls to ensure integrity of all financial transactions.
  • Manage the financial resources of the department, including budgets and funds from federal, state, private, University, and foundation sources.
  • Coordinate and manage the department's web site and links, including all aspects of department functions.
  • Develop and implement administrative procedures for grant and contract administration.
  • Manage the research resources of the department, including grant and contract staff and processes, research staff support, capital equipment, physical plant, IRB, and Protected Health Information compliance issues.
Requirements:
  • Master's degree in Health Care Administration, Business, or a related field.
  • At least 3 years related experience.
  • Proven leadership and sophisticated communication skills.
  • Experience in performing complex medical center/departmental financial analyses using personal computer software.
