Job Description

At the University of Washington, we are seeking a highly skilled and experienced individual to join our team as a Human Resources Director. As a key member of the UW Information Technology organization, this role will be responsible for leading and managing all aspects of human resources services, including employee relations, recruitment, and benefits administration.

The successful candidate will have a strong background in human resources, with a minimum of 8 years of experience in a large complex environment. They will possess excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders, including faculty, staff, administrators, and vendors.

This position requires a high level of confidentiality, discretion, and sensitivity, as well as the ability to exercise sound judgment and make informed decisions. The ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker, with a proven track record of developing and implementing effective HR strategies that align with organizational goals and objectives.

The Director will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of human resources, including employee relations, recruitment, benefits administration, and payroll. They will also be expected to provide guidance and support to hiring managers, supervisors, and employees on HR-related matters.

The successful candidate will be a collaborative leader, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams, including finance, operations, and academic departments. They will possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships with diverse stakeholders, including faculty, staff, administrators, and vendors.

This position requires a high level of emotional intelligence, with the ability to navigate complex organizational dynamics and build trust with diverse stakeholders. Key Responsibilities:

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Organizational Development, Communications or related field.
  • Minimum 8 years of experience in human resources, with a minimum of 3 years in a leadership role.
  • Proven track record of developing and implementing effective HR strategies that align with organizational goals and objectives.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders, including faculty, staff, administrators, and vendors.
