Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Human Resources Specialist to join our team at Clausen House. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing support to employees by interpreting and administering Human Resource policies and procedures.

The ideal candidate will have excellent communication and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work effectively with employees and management to resolve issues and promote a positive work environment.

The Human Resources Specialist will be responsible for updating and implementing personnel policies and procedures, conducting new hire orientations, and managing the agency grievance resolution process.

Additionally, the successful candidate will be responsible for administering benefit plans, managing open enrollment, and answering benefit inquiries.

They will also oversee all HR staff, manage annual workers compensation audit activities, and manage all agency FMLA, CFRA, and disability leaves.

The Human Resources Specialist will be a key member of our team, working closely with management to ensure compliance with labor laws and regulations.

They will also be responsible for maintaining current employee information in all HR systems, tracking and maintaining all required employee trainings, and overseeing the tracking and communication of all performance evaluations.

Furthermore, the successful candidate will arrange and provide annual agency HR trainings, arrange agency First Aid/CPR trainings, and arrange and coordinate agency management and all associated HR and compliance trainings.

They will also ensure completion of updated LIC 500 forms and Residential program associations through CCL, provide supporting documentation for annual audit, and coordinate company-sponsored employee events and recognition as requested.

Finally, the Human Resources Specialist will ensure accuracy of EEOC required data collection, review payroll documents for accuracy and compliance with company policy and labor law, and oversee all payroll functions.

They will also manage workers compensation claims process, disability and unemployment claims, conduct internal investigations and inquiries as needed and directed by ED, and serve as back-up payroll processor for bi-weekly payroll.

Additionally, the successful candidate will serve on Clausen House Management team, diversity, safety, and other committees as requested, and comply with other duties as assigned.

We currently support 200 adults with developmental disabilities, and indirect support to their families in Oakland and throughout Alameda County.
