Job DescriptionMedCycle Management is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Insurance Follow-Up Manager to join our team. As an Insurance Follow-Up Manager, you will be responsible for managing and overseeing all activities related to insurance follow-up for multiple clients, including hospital-based and physician-based billing. This role requires strong leadership and communication skills, as well as the ability to work effectively with associates to ensure compliance with all policies and procedures.Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage and oversee the follow-up of all patient service revenue to ensure timely and accurate payment.
  • Contribute to the development of an operating plan that aligns with the company's goals and objectives.
  • Work closely with the department Director to set goals and objectives that align with the company's overall strategy.
  • Responsible for hiring, developing, coaching, disciplining, and performing evaluations of associates.
  • Maintain and improve the department workflow and utilization of personnel to maximize individual and group productivity, competence, and effectiveness.
  • Provide support and coaching to assist in identifying denial trends with a focus on prevention.
  • Monitor system dashboards and reporting to identify areas of focus and create structured plans to address.
  • Monitor write-offs and ensure all efforts to obtain reimbursement have been exhausted and proper approvals are obtained.
  • Maintain knowledge of government and private payer regulations and contracts.
  • Maintain effective communication with insurance companies, managed care contractors, and governmental payers.
Requirements:
  • Be proficient in Microsoft applications, including Outlook, Word, and Excel.
  • Detail-oriented and able to research accounts to bring it to an appropriate account resolution.
  • Knowledgeable of medical terminology and in-depth understanding of insurance processes.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited information is provided.
Preferred Experience:
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • A medical background with experience in patient financial services is preferred.
  • Previous insurance billing and/or follow-up experience is preferred.
  • Proficiency with hospital accounts receivable software is required.
