Role Overview: The Youth Engagement Specialist is responsible for planning, executing, supervising, and assessing activities within a designated program area, aligning with the Boys & Girls Club's key outcome areas: Academic Success, Healthy Lifestyles, and Good Character and Citizenship. This role involves fostering and sustaining professional relationships with all Club members and their families to further the mission of The Salvation Army.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Foster an environment conducive to achieving Youth Development Outcomes.
  • Encourage and enhance program participation, assist with the onboarding of new members, and engage in their orientation process.
  • Provide mentorship and serve as a role model for members.
  • Effectively implement and manage programs, services, and activities for Club members.
  • Oversee special initiatives such as Youth of the Year or Youth of the Month programs.
  • Monitor and assess programs, services, and activities to ensure member safety, program quality, and the overall appearance of the facility.
  • Prepare regular activity reports as required.
  • Support outreach efforts to maintain and boost program membership and participation.
  • Assist in keeping the facility and equipment in optimal condition, ensuring all storage areas are organized and clean.
  • Report any maintenance, repair, or cleaning needs to the supervisor as necessary.
  • Participate in special programs and events as directed.
  • May be required to operate a Club vehicle.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Supervisory Duties: Supervision of Youth Development Professionals

Qualifications: A high school diploma or GED is required. Previous experience in a related field working with children and youth is preferred.
