Role Summary:
The NOC Systems Engineer plays a crucial role in performing regular assessments of technology and service alignment against the IT Solutions (ITS) standards for a designated segment of our clientele. This position involves regular travel to client sites to evaluate their technological infrastructure. You will ensure that all client devices and services are provisioned, secure, updated, documented, and functioning at peak performance. Additionally, you will address straightforward issues on-site and collaborate with other ITS teams to tackle more complex challenges, documenting your observations for our Client Strategy team to utilize in developing the client's Technology Strategy Roadmap.
Key Responsibilities
Core Duties
- Conduct standards alignment evaluations of client environments, both remotely and on-site.
- Record audit results in a technology road mapping tool.
- Implement basic technical alignment remediation actions based on audit outcomes.
- Examine client LAN and WAN infrastructures to identify technology lifecycle discrepancies, faults, performance challenges, and suboptimal configurations.
- Analyze reactive incident patterns to uncover opportunities for improvement and reduce incident frequency.
- Identify potential risks within clients' IT ecosystems.
- Collaborate with the Strategic Advisor (SA) to educate clients on optimal usage and configuration of LAN and WAN infrastructures.
- Develop and maintain network diagrams, infrastructure reports, prioritized workstation reports, and other strategic materials for quarterly and roadmap discussions.
- Establish and maintain a technical documentation library for client system configurations.
- Work collaboratively with other support teams to deliver comprehensive IT solutions.
- Provide project, time, and materials services for scheduled on-call after-hours customer support.
Technical Expertise:
- 3-5+ years of general systems administration experience.
- Proficient in Windows Server Technologies and administration.
- Experience with Windows Active Directory (group policies, server roles).
- Familiarity with Office365 administration.
- Knowledge of Virtualization: VMWare/Hyper-V.
- Understanding of network and server security.
- Experience with VPN technologies and solutions.
- Proficient in Microsoft Azure administration.
- Familiarity with Azure Active Directory.
- Experience with Microsoft 365 Cloud Suite.
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience in a related field.
- Strong attention to detail and adherence to processes.
- Proven ability to manage and set client expectations.
- Exceptional customer service and communication skills.
- Collaborative mindset and a willingness to solve client challenges as a team.
- Able to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
