Patient and Visitor Services Coordinator

Job Overview:

MedStar Health is seeking a dedicated Patient and Guest Relations Representative to enhance the experience of our patients and visitors.

In this role, you will act as the primary liaison for patients, family members, and visitors, providing essential information about patient services and guiding them to their desired locations. You will address patient and guest inquiries, resolve issues, or escalate them to appropriate personnel when necessary. Additionally, you may be tasked with issuing identification badges for associates, vendors, and contractors, as well as managing emergency and non-emergency calls for security services.

As a vital member of our 24/7 operations, flexibility in scheduling and willingness to work varied shifts is essential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Greet patients and visitors upon arrival, offering assistance and directions throughout the facility. You may also coordinate transportation services and escort individuals as needed.
  • Monitor and manage the entrances, providing support and services as guests enter. Responsibilities may include assisting with parking and arranging accommodations within the facility.
  • If assigned to a specific department, engage with patients and families in waiting areas, providing refreshments and addressing inquiries.
  • Handle patient and visitor complaints, resolving straightforward issues and referring complex matters to patient advocates or supervisors for further action.
  • Assist in orienting volunteers at information desks and ensure the cleanliness and organization of public areas.
Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • 1-2 years of relevant experience.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal abilities.
  • Organizational skills and capability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
  • Prior office experience is preferred.
  • Basic computer proficiency is advantageous.
