Job Overview:

MedStar Health is seeking a dedicated Patient and Guest Relations Representative to enhance the experience of our patients and visitors.

As a key point of contact, you will assist patients, family members, and visitors by providing essential information about services and guiding them to various locations within the facility. Your role will involve addressing and resolving concerns or complaints from patients and guests, or escalating issues to the appropriate personnel when necessary. Additionally, you may oversee the issuance of identification badges for staff, vendors, and contractors, as well as manage emergency and non-emergency calls for security services.

Patient and Guest Relations Representatives play a vital role in our 24/7 operations and may need to adapt to varying schedules, including working during off-peak hours.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Greet and assist patients and visitors upon arrival, providing directions and information about hospital services. Coordinate transportation and escort individuals as needed.
  • Manage the facility's entrances, offering assistance and ensuring a welcoming environment. This may include aiding with parking services and arranging accommodations for guests.
  • When assigned to specific departments, monitor waiting areas and engage with patients, families, and medical staff to address inquiries and provide refreshments.
  • Handle patient and visitor complaints, resolving straightforward issues and referring more complex matters to patient advocates or supervisors.
  • Orient and supervise volunteers at information desks, ensuring the cleanliness and organization of public areas.
Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • 1-2 years of relevant experience.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal abilities.
  • Organizational skills and capacity to manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Preferred experience in a general office setting.
  • Basic computer proficiency is advantageous.
