Position Overview

The University of Texas at Arlington is seeking applications for a full-time Non-Tenure-Track (NTT) research faculty role focused on Sustainable Energy Geochemistry and Environmental Geochemistry. We are looking for a well-rounded geochemist who can enhance the interdisciplinary character of our geology and environmental science programs.

Research Focus

Ideal candidates should possess a robust research background in areas such as fluid-rock chemical interactions related to CO2 underground storage, carbon mineralization, geothermal exploration, serpentinization for hydrogen production, or the transport of pollutants in various environments including water, soil, and air. A proven track record of research success is essential.

Analytical Resources

Our department boasts strong analytical capabilities, including access to the Shimadzu Institute for Research Technologies, which features the Shimadzu Center for Environmental, Forensics, and Material Science.

Responsibilities

The primary duty of the research faculty will be to collaborate actively with faculty mentors in the Department of Earth and Environmental Sciences. Responsibilities include:
1. Conducting research that leads to publications.
2. Participating in the development and submission of research grant proposals in the fields of sustainable energy geochemistry and environmental geochemistry.

Qualifications

Applicants must hold a doctoral degree in geochemistry or environmental chemistry. Preference will be given to candidates with a demonstrated history of research and scholarly activity in the relevant areas.
