Financial Analyst for Renewable Energy Projects

Overview:

Summit Ridge Energy ("SRE") is on the lookout for a Financial Analyst specializing in project financing, particularly within the renewable energy sector. This role involves the development and management of financial models and analyses that facilitate the marketing, structuring, negotiation, and finalization of sponsor equity, tax equity, and debt investments in our diverse portfolio of community and distributed solar projects, as well as solar + energy storage and standalone storage initiatives.

With a focus on strategic partnerships and expertise in project financing, we engage in the development, acquisition, ownership, and operation of energy projects within the expanding commercial solar and battery storage markets.

Over the past six years, we have successfully invested over $1.6 billion into clean energy assets. Our development pipeline exceeds 2 GW, and we anticipate having more than 400 MW of photovoltaic capacity operational by the end of 2024, supplying solar energy to approximately 50,000 homes and businesses.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and sustain advanced financial models (e.g., joint ventures, partnership flips, lease pass-throughs).
  • Oversee transaction execution and the financial closing process for multiple projects at various development stages.
  • Assist in negotiations with investors regarding our solar and energy storage project portfolio, which includes development and construction debt, joint venture equity, and tax equity.
  • Collaborate with other business units (origination, development, operations, construction, legal) to estimate and monitor relevant assumptions, integrating financing conditions and requirements into company processes.
  • Participate in client meetings and industry conferences as necessary.
  • Support senior members of the Project Finance team in negotiating and finalizing project financing agreements, including tax equity transactions.

Qualifications:

  • 1-2 years of relevant work experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in finance, economics, energy, sustainability, engineering, or a related field.
  • Strong project management capabilities, exceptional organizational skills, and meticulous attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and adhere to tight deadlines.
  • Effective communication skills to convey development and finance sensitivities to the sales team, senior management, and other stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated adaptability and willingness to modify processes or directions based on changing circumstances or management guidance.
  • A strong work ethic, ambition, and drive.
  • A genuine enthusiasm for renewable energy and the solar industry, with a long-term commitment to building a career in this field.
