POSITION SUMMARY: The VLT Shift Manager plays a crucial role in overseeing the Slot Department operations, ensuring a seamless and enjoyable experience for guests while maintaining operational efficiency.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Fosters team development through a supportive and approachable leadership style, clearly defining performance expectations.
  • Guides and assists staff in achieving the objectives of Delaware Park through the fair enforcement of policies and procedures.
  • Aims to enhance departmental operations by continuously evaluating and improving policies, procedures, and overall program effectiveness.
  • Determines appropriate staffing levels for all positions within the Slot Department and oversees personnel scheduling.
  • Balances customer satisfaction with profitability by adhering to established labor standards.
  • Ensures all team members are aware of and accountable for their performance metrics.
  • Promotes a safe, secure, and welcoming environment for both guests and team members.
  • Guarantees compliance with departmental, corporate, and regulatory policies, including Delaware Lottery Rules and Regulations.
  • Contributes to the development of the Slot Department's business strategy, operating budget, and capital expenditure plan.
  • Designs and implements training programs focused on customer service excellence and leadership skills.
  • Maintains strict controls over all financial transactions, documentation, and records related to Slot Operations.
  • Monitors departmental activities to ensure operational efficiency and adherence to internal controls.
  • Responsible for the accuracy of daily time records, jackpot payouts, and shift summaries.
  • Utilizes slot floor system reports and player tracking systems to address and resolve guest and employee inquiries.
  • Performs additional duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A minimum of two (2) years of supervisory experience and three (3) years in gaming operations is required.
  • Must successfully complete and maintain a background check and licensing as mandated by the Delaware Lottery.
  • Possesses knowledge of marketing initiatives and effectively communicates relevant information to floor staff.
  • Demonstrates strong leadership, interpersonal, customer service, and communication skills.
  • Ability to lift up to forty (40) pounds and push or pull up to fifty (50) pounds without difficulty.
  • Familiarity with casino regulations, policies, and procedures is essential.
  • Must be available to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays as necessary.
  • Exceptional verbal communication and customer service skills are required.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while effectively engaging with guests, colleagues, and management.
