The Food & Beverage Organization at Vail Resorts is comprised of over 300 different restaurants that share a commitment to bringing excellence to mountain dining as part of the overall ski experience. We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Sous Chef to join our team and provide guests with an exceptional dining experience.
Key Responsibilities- Lead the Kitchen Team: Supervise kitchen staff and lead the team operationally and administratively.
- Food Safety and Quality: Adhere and uphold Food Safety requirements and employee safety programs, ensuring the highest standards of quality and safety in the kitchen.
- Menu Management: Lead daily product quality and portion control standards, managing all stations during service times, troubleshooting, assisting guests and staff.
- Inventory and Cost Control: Manage location ordering/receiving, stocking and rotation of product, cost transfers, product waste and inventory control of all food, beverages, supplies, etc.
- Employee Development: Conduct employee development and performance reviews, leading by a professional example and creating a fun and positive teamwork environment.
- Leadership Experience: Minimum of 3 years' experience in a high-volume kitchen facility and minimum 3 years of direct management/supervisory experience.
- Culinary Expertise: Advanced culinary knowledge and a passion for people, with a strong understanding of inventory control, waste management, and portion control systems.
- Communication Skills: Strong interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to perform in a fast-paced guest-facing environment.
- Education and Certifications: Serve Safe Certification or equivalent State Issues Food Handler Card, with the ability to stand for long periods of time and lift 40 lbs.
- Competitive Compensation: The expected pay range is $20 - $26.44, with individual compensation decisions based on a variety of factors.
