Accounts Payable Specialist Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Accounts Payable Specialist to join our team at LHH Recruitment Solutions. As an Accounts Payable Specialist, you will be responsible for processing and coding vendor invoices, ensuring proper approvals and compliance with company policies.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Process and code a high volume of vendor invoices for multiple real estate properties, ensuring proper approvals and compliance with company policies.
  • Match purchase orders, contracts, and property management agreements to invoices and verify accuracy of billing.
  • Prepare and execute payments, including checks, ACH transfers, and wire payments, while maintaining a strict schedule to avoid late payments or penalties.
  • Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies or payment issues in a timely manner.
  • Maintain accurate records of accounts payable transactions, updating and filing relevant documents for each property.
  • Assist in month-end and year-end close processes by ensuring all AP transactions are accurately recorded.
  • Collaborate with property managers, project managers, and vendors to address any billing or payment concerns related to real estate operations.
  • Prepare and maintain AP aging reports, helping to track outstanding payables and manage cash flow.
  • Ensure compliance with accounting standards and company policies specific to the real estate industry.
  • Assist in audits by providing documentation and explanations of AP transactions related to real estate projects and vendor contracts.
Qualifications:
  • 2+ years of experience in accounts payable, preferably within the real estate industry or property management.
  • Strong understanding of AP processes in a real estate environment, including handling vendor contracts, utility payments, and project-related expenses.
  • Proficiency in accounting software used in real estate or property management (e.g., Yardi, MRI, QuickBooks, AppFolio).
  • Excellent attention to detail with the ability to manage a high volume of invoices across multiple properties.
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills to work effectively with vendors and internal teams.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced, dynamic real estate environment.
  • Familiarity with industry-specific financial terms and regulations related to real estate accounting.
Pay Details:

$20.00 to $23.00 per hour
