Automation Specialist

Shape Technologies Group is seeking a highly skilled Systems Technician to join our team. As a key member of our commissioning team, you will be responsible for ensuring that our machines are delivered to our customers in a production-ready state.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the development of new technologies through production support, customer training, and final acceptance.
- Work closely with the Software Engineering Manager and the Mechanical and Electrical Integration teams to ensure seamless integration of our machines.
- Interact with the Project Management and Engineering teams to ensure commercial success of our projects.
- Perform duties such as checking-in robots, loading software, verifying options, and setting up calibration tools.
- Repeatability testing of all system motion groups, including robots, and verifying correct servo parameters.
- Perform functionality testing of proprietary process-specific software and required test cuts.
- Part programming and setting up systems for shakedown tests.
- Support internal runoff and complete verification checklists.
- Complete robot controller backups and store them on the network.
- Perform installation and start-up assistance on customers' floors.
- Complete programming requirements after installation and conclude any open issues.
- Notify the Project Manager when installation requirements are completed.
Requirements:
- Minimum of 3 years of relevant industry experience.
- High School Diploma/GED required.
- Comprehensive knowledge of Fanuc Robots.
- Programming and/or troubleshooting knowledge of Fanuc, ABB, and Motoman robots.
- Proficient in the use of computers and Microsoft Office programs.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- General mechanical and electrical aptitude of automated systems.
- Willingness to travel for extended periods of time.
- Must be able to travel internationally.
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods of standing and performing repetitive tasks may be required.
- Must have manual dexterity.
- Must have excellent hand-eye coordination.
- May be required to differentiate between colored wires, tabs, and electrical/electronic components.
- Must wear safety glasses and safety boots.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times.
- Must be able to bend, squat, stoop, kneel, and perform moderate lifting.
- Must be able to sit for long periods of time traveling to and from the job site.
