Responsibilities

  1. Design, install, test, and commission of automation instrumentation and control systems.
  2. The programming and combination of various automation technologies into highly integrated systems that utilize robots, vision systems, PLCs, HMIs, etc.
  3. The design and development of database and interface applications that integrate our machine control systems with our customer's production and data management systems.
  4. Prepare technical documents and design specifications for control systems and installations.
  5. Write reports, user/operator manuals, and procedures.
  6. Work in collaboration with Electrical Designers and Mechanical Engineers for all projects.
  7. Perform robot setup for process-specific applications.
  8. Work within project-defined schedule and budget estimates.
  9. Involvement in controls, programming, motion, communication systems, electrical design, vision systems, and robotic integration.
  10. Attend project review meetings and undertake and/or give training courses.
  11. Represent Shape Process Automation in a professional and mature matter.
  12. Travel to commission and support systems at customer facilities.

Qualifications

  1. Bachelor's degree in industrial Robotics, Software Development, or equivalent experience.
  2. If degreed must have at least 3 years of relevant industry experience. If not degreed in associated disciplines the candidate must have at least 8 years of relevant industry experience.
  3. Must have a valid passport and driver's license.
  4. Willingness to travel for extended periods of time.
  5. Must be able to travel internationally. Primarily to Canada and Mexico.
  6. Elevated computer skills.
  7. Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  8. Solid knowledge of PLCs (Allen Bradley, Studio5000, and RS Logix 500).
  9. Familiarity with Siemens, Omron and Mitsubishi, HMI's (Red Lion, Crimson and Allen Bradley, FactoryTalk View).
  10. Familiarity with Siemens, Omron, and Proface.
  11. Robot Programming (Fanuc Karel and Teach Pendant Logic).
