Unit Overview:
The Med-Surg Acute Care Unit is committed to providing high-quality care for patients with various medical conditions, including neurological and low-risk cardiac issues. Our nursing team is equipped with essential certifications such as BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS to ensure optimal patient care. We maintain a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:5-6, supported by an active unit practice council and dedicated educational resources.
Position Summary:
The Senior Clinical Nurse is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of a designated shift within the clinical unit. This role involves supervising staff, facilitating communication with healthcare providers, and ensuring the delivery of patient-centered care. The ideal candidate will:
- Lead initiatives to enhance organizational systems that align with our mission and values.
- Exhibit strong problem-solving skills and the ability to navigate conflicts effectively.
- Demonstrate expert communication skills and provide mentorship to fellow nurses.
- Manage unit resources to achieve optimal patient outcomes while adhering to policies and procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate daily operations and staff assignments to meet departmental needs.
- Evaluate and implement changes to improve operational efficiency.
- Support and guide less experienced staff in their professional development.
- Participate in budget planning and resource management activities.
- Foster a collaborative environment that encourages open communication among team members.
Qualifications:
To be considered for this role, candidates must possess:
- A Bachelor's degree in Nursing
- A minimum of two years of RN experience, including two years in a relevant specialty
- A valid, active nursing license in Georgia
