Role Overview:
The Infrastructure Systems Engineer is responsible for delivering technical support, planning, configuration, installation, and system administration for both physical and virtual server environments, along with their operating system components.

Key Responsibilities:
Administers and installs systems that form the backbone of application software, Local Area Networks, and server operating systems, ensuring compliance with established technical standards. Collaborates with management to assess and configure technical requests, assisting other technical personnel and application users in optimizing system utilization.

Engages at a technical level to support business needs, particularly in areas such as diagnostic imaging and portable technologies.


  • Note: Hardware and software provisions will be managed by Saxon Global, which may influence the start date based on availability.

Major Duties:
Plans, schedules, and coordinates the installation and upgrades of server hardware and application software across the region. Ensures adherence to change management protocols and suggests enhancements to these processes.

Installs and maintains virtualization solutions, developing strategies in a distributed environment throughout all lifecycle phases, including proof of concept, design, configuration, automation, testing, and migration. Provides mentorship to team members during incident resolution.

Installs and supports device integration solutions, maintaining a comprehensive understanding of technology stack components from desktop to wide area networks to effectively troubleshoot integration conflicts.

Analyzes business needs and formulates technical recommendations, evaluating both new and existing software products. Responsible for maintenance, testing, documentation, and training related to operating systems and hardware.

Supports workstation and server administration procedures, ensuring capacity monitoring is conducted and corrective actions are initiated as necessary. Monitors and optimizes performance levels of diagnostic imaging and other systems in the region.

Implements backup and recovery strategies to guarantee data/media recoverability for site-based systems. Participates in disaster recovery and business continuity planning as required.

Adheres to quality assurance processes to ensure system integrity, optimal performance, and defect-free operation. Manages application delivery and directory administration for the region.

Communication:
Maintains clear communication with staff and clients regarding activity status and potential issues. Acts as a liaison with vendors and staff to coordinate changes in application software and hardware, prioritizing problems as necessary.

Conducts root-cause analysis to resolve software and hardware issues, tracking and trending problems to inform future resolutions. Collaborates with technical staff to address complex software and hardware challenges, including those related to wireless technology and intricate printer systems.


Qualifications:
Licensure: None required.
Education: Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or a related field.
Experience: Typically requires 3 years of experience in Platforms, Network Communications, and Project Management.

Skills and Abilities:
Proficient in backup tools, storage systems, network management systems, and application delivery systems. Knowledgeable in operating systems and vendor-specific environments, with a strong understanding of systems administration and the interplay between application code and server/desktop operating systems.

Demonstrates facilitation skills and the ability to convey technical concepts to non-technical audiences. Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and set appropriate priorities.

Physical Requirements:
Work environment may involve exposure to dust, dirt, and noise, as well as mechanical and electrical hazards. Protective clothing may be required in certain situations. The position may necessitate off-hours support and participation in an on-call rotation.
